dump on a hamm system
File system dumps have started failing on me after a recent update of
packages on a hamm system. I tried to re-build the dump package from
the sources but am caught on the dependencies. I think I need
e2fslibs-dev which depends on comerr-dev and both these depend on
libc5-dev which is no longer available.
I would appreciate suggestions on how I can create a working dump program.
The behaviour of dump is
519# type -a dump
dump is /sbin/dump
520# ldd /sbin/dump
libext2fs.so.2 => /lib/libext2fs.so.2 (0x40010000)
libcom_err.so.2 => /lib/libcom_err.so.2 (0x40020000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40022000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x400c1000)

Sometimes the error message reports an interrupted system call.
